This book was a rollercoaster ride, and one I can’t stop thinking about. Beginning in an academic setting and finishing out very different. You become so invested with these characters and Briella Brezzo has definitely written something I’ve never read before.

This is a story filled with love, sacrifice, and heartbreak. The relationships feel intense and meaningful, and the stakes are high in a way that keeps you fully invested. Watching everything unfold—the connections, the betrayals, the twists—feels like being on an emotional rollercoaster you can’t get off (and don’t want to).

I loved this book! It had me from the get go and never released me. Brielle Brezzo does an excellent job of weaving this tale, from the description of the grey, desolate, and bleak-looking landscape of the human realm to the unique colorful world of the fae. It all places the reader completely immersed in this world. I love the unique magic system of incantation, where the magic doesn't just come free of charge, so to speak. Which again, is another twist and turn in this oh so delicious plot!

I was MESMERIZED by book 1. It was such a fantastic book that my expectations for book 2 were sky high... well they still got surpassed!

Briella has truly outdone herself, weaving an even richer tapestry of adventure, mind-bending manipulation, and deeply held secrets, all wrapped up in a few well-placed curses and a whole lot of delicious relationship drama.
